Why Black America Needs To Take Marianne Williamson Seriously

As anxiety around the 2020 election persists, I keep hearing many black people say “ we just need to pick a person who has the best chance of beating Trump”

Sometimes I feel like we (black people) do not realize how powerful our voting bloc is. Malcolm X stated in his 1964 Ballot or the Bullet speech,

The whites are so evenly divided that every time they vote, the race is close they have to go back and count the votes all over again Which means that any bloc, any minority that has a bloc of votes that stick together, is in a strategic position. Either way you go, that’s who gets it

In my opinion, the only thing black people should be politically strategizing around, is…how to get reparations.

Numbers don’t lie. Since 1992, every candidate that has won the majority of black votes during the primaries, went on to become the Democratic Presidential nominee.

Marriane Williamson is the only candidate who is really pushing for reparations. What is more impressive is that she has been advocating for reparations for 20 years.

Here is her plan for reparations.

She is advocating for $200 billion to $500 billion to be allocated for a reparations program. The fund would be used to distribute payments over 20 years.

What I like about her reparations plan is that she does not want the US government controlling the fund. She wants a team of 30 to 50 African Americans who are “descendants of slaves with some scholarly, cultural or political connection to the issue of reparations”, to manage the fund.

Black people need reparations. Her plan is 100 percent realistic.

As stated before, those who win the majority of the black votes, become the Democratic nominee. Therefore , most black people should vote for Marianne Williamson.
