Be Consistent With Your Hatred For Racism

As many of you know, George Bush Sr. passed away two weeks ago. At his memorial last week, photos and videos surfaced online. One in particular stood out to me.

Basically there is a inside joke of Bush giving Michelle Obama candy. It turns out, they are actually friends. Michelle Obama had this to say about George Bush. “I love him to death. He’s a wonderful man, he’s a funny man.”

I could have sworn saying such things about presidents whose policies endanger black and brown lives, gets you “cancelled.”

No this isn’t an article about Kanye, it is strictly about Bush and Michelle Obama.

America is a fast paced country, so we tend to forget many events. Let me remind you with some fast facts as to why Michelle Obama being friends with Bush, is a slap in the face to black people.

  1. Voter Supression of Black People

George Bush became president by stripping black people of the same rights that their ancestors died for during Jim Crow. Voting rights. About 16,000 eligible black voters were purged from the records in the state of Florida during the 2000 election. This allowed him to win Florida, which led to him becoming president. The chairman of his campaign was in charge of the vote count. Black politicians spoke up against this injustice at a hearing but the government literally told them to stop talking. One of those black politicians was Maxine Waters. All of this is explained in the first five minutes of the documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11, below.

2. Hurricane Katrina

Some people may say, “Katrina was a natural disaster, how was this Bush’s fault?”It was not the hurricane, it was what Bush did, or shall I say, did not do, after the hurricane. George Bush completely abandoned American citizens, who happened to be mainly poor black people. He and the federal government completely abandoned them for days , leaving them with no food or water and being left to drown and die. After the deadly 2004 Tsunami in Indonesia, America sent food and water 2 days later. New Orleans, an American city, did not receive this government treatment until 4–5 days afterwards.

It was so bad that two of the biggest rappers called out George Bush. Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne’s anger towards George Bush was less known out side of hip hop fans. His anger was even more justified, due to the fact that he is from New Orleans. He made a very politically charged song called, “Georgia Bush”, which highlighted the racial component of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.

In the song, Lil Wayne raps about his belief that hurricane Katrina was intentional. This stems from the fact that many natives of New Orleans said they heard explosions during the time of Katrina. Their suspicions are not far-fetched when you realize that the local government in New Orleans intentionally bombed the levees in 1965. The Spike Lee produced documentary “When The Levees Broke”, mentions this at the 25 min mark below.

No matter how you look at it, George Bush abandoned poor black americans , leaving them to drown and die in one of the worst natural disasters America has ever seen.

9/11

You know that person who steals something from you then helps you look for it? Bush was complicit in the murder of over 3,000 american citizens on 9/11 but decided to blame it on Iraq, a country that never did anything to America. Leading up to 9/11, the Bush family had family financial ties with the Bin Laden family. This is not a conspiracy theory it is well known.

On August 6, 2001, a little over a month before 9/11, Bush was given a security briefing that said Osama Bin Laden was planning a terrorist attack on America by hijacking planes.

The document he was given that day, was called “Bin Laden determined to attack the United States” There is no excuse for Bush to not have prevented 9/11. It gets worse. Days after 9/11, all commercial and private planes were prevented from flying. The White house approved private planes to pick up and escort the Biden Laden family out of America.

Instead of targeting the people who he knew was responsible for 9/11, he targeted innocent Muslims in America. Although George Bush never said any clear hate-speech about Muslims, but his actions and rhetoric about terrorism led to Islamophobia, hate crimes, and deportations of muslims. In the weeks after the attack, more than 1,000 Muslims and Arabs were rounded up by the FBI and detained without charge. Thousands of Muslim immigrants were deported from the U.S. in the months following the attack. Bush created an illegal surveillance program that disproportionately spied on Muslims.

Bush also created a database, called the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS), that, according to CNN, “disproportionately targeted Arabs and Muslims and was a point of contention between rights groups and the federal government for nearly a decade.”

Iraq and Afghanistan.

Graphic Images of War Below

I strongly encourage people to watch the 6 min clip from the movie Farenheight 9/11 below . The clip provides vivid images of Iraq before America invaded and then the military invasion its self. The images are gruesome, bloody, and gory but will give you a proper sense as to how evil this war was.

The scene starts at the 1 hour and 8 min mark to the 1 hour and 14 min.

A nation that continues year after year to spend money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death

-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In 2003, Bush illegally sent troops to invade Iraq by dropping bombs and “shooting everything that moved”. It is 2018, if you don’t think Bush invaded Iraq for oil then I will not try to convince you now. This invasion led to the death of 180, 000 civilians. Soldiers were even speaking out about the corruption within the war. The former NFL star, turned U.S. soldier, Pat Tilman was no exception. He and his brother believed the war was “illegal and unjust”. Pat Tilman was killed by three shots in the head at close range by a fellow U.S. soldiers. It was ruled “friendly fire.” After his death, Pat Tillman’s brother began speaking out against the war as well.

This does not even include the thousands of innocent civilians killed in Afghanistan as well.

Lying as a pre-text for war seems to run in the family tree for Bush. Bush’s father helped facilitate an illegal war against predominantly poor black and latinos. The U.S. government knowingly allowed the deadly drug called Crack Cocaine to flood predominantly impoverished black neighborhoods. Crack cocaine destroyed the lives, minds, and neighborhoods of black people. It still does today. It was confirmed that people affiliated with the CIA were involved in bringing drugs to the black neighborhoods of America. The U.S. government was aware of this. Bush Sr. was the head of the CIA and Vice President at this time.

Bush Sr. knew who was bringing the drugs into America yet helped blame it black and latinos. He co-engineered a war on drugs that rounded up and detained millions of impoverished black and latinos. Millions of families were separated, including parents from their children, for decades. This also gave birth to modern day slavery.

It is very interesting how many liberals hate Trump for separating families, yet praised a man George H Bush Sr, who separated families.

George Bush Jr. helped continue this illegal war against black and latinos.

Here are the facts. On paper, Bush is just as equally destructive towards black and brown people as Trump if not worse. When I see Michelle Obama hugged up on Bush it is disappointing. It is a slap in the face of the millions of black and brown people around the world, whose lives were destroyed by Bush. I understand how much Michelle Obama means to the black community. The first black, first lady. A beautiful, intelligent, and classy woman. I will always remember the feeling, when Barack Obama became the first black president and what that meant to us as a people. Unfortunately I do not know what to think after her new friendship with Bush.
